Western Herbal
Medicine
Western
Herbal Medicine (WHM) involves the use of medicinal plants for health
management. Although the bulk of the herbs used originate from
Western cultures such as England and America, WHM now also integrates
herbs used traditionally in Indian and Chinese cultures as part
of their dispensary. These plants can be administered through
a variety of forms, such as tinctures (liquid extracts),
creams, infusions (teas) and tablets. Most commonly in WHM,
an individualised herbal formula is prepared for the client,
based on their presenting condition and underlying health
concerns.
Nutritional
Medicine
Nutritional
Medicine (NM) is a therapy that involves the medicinal application
of nutrients found within food and supplements. Using NM may
require taking supplements for short periods to help balance
out nutritional deficiencies; however it also promotes dietary
changes to prevent these deficiencies reoccurring. NM requires
a physical assessment to identify these potential nutritional
deficiencies which may be presenting in the individual. The distinguishing
feature within NM is not just a focus on ensuring adequate
nutrient intake to prevent deficiency, but the achievement
of optimum nutritional status. The benefit that good nutrition
has in the treatment and prevention of disease will be clearly
seen.

Naturopathy
Naturopathy
is an approach to health which supports the body's innate ability
to heal itself. This may involved the use of western herbal medicine
nutritional medicine, flower essences and lifestyle changes.
More important than any of these, however, is the Naturopath's
approach to the disease, health and wellness.
With any health problem experienced by an individual,
a Naturopath attempts to identify the underlying cause for the
disease, rather than only treating the symptom.
A Naturopath will also view your body as a complex inter-relating
system in which disease in one area may be impacting on others,
giving them a deeper insight into the overall impact of your health
condition. This approach also acknowledges the importance of the
emotional and mental state, as well as the body, in achieving optimum
health and wellness.

Homoeopathy
Homœopathy is a safe, gentle, effective and complete system of medicine that is suitable for all ages. It aims to provide individual solutions for people with individual health problems, by reinforcing the body’s own healing response. Homœopaths believe that the whole person, the mind and body, act as one and you can’t treat one part of the body without affecting the whole.
Homœopathy is based on the principle of ‘like cures like’, or the Law of Similars. This law states that ‘a substance that can cause a disease can also relieve it’. An example of this is coffee, or Coffea, which is well known today as a stimulant that can cause temporary insomnia. Coffea may be used in minute doses (prepared homœopathically) to relieve that insomnia, so long as the person is similar in all other aspects to the mental, emotional and physical picture of Coffea, the homœopathic medicine. The homœopathic medicines then work by stimulating the body’s own healing response.
Homœopathically prepared medicines are prepared from natural substances from plant, animal, mineral and microbiological sources. Since the medicines are very dilute, they are non-toxic, non-addictive and safe to be used by everyone, including children, the elderly and during pregnancy.
Homœopathic medicines can be taken in conjunction with conventional medicines without any adverse effects, although it is advised for you to consult with your Homœopath in this matter. There are no toxic side effects when taking homœopathic medicines. Sometimes there is an immediate improvement, or healing begins with an increased feeling of well-being (even though symptoms initially remain), or old symptoms may recur as part of the healing process. Occasionally there may be a temporary worsening of the symptoms prior to improvement.

Australian Bush Flower Remedies
Australian
Bush Flower Essences bring clarity to the conscious mind and
resolve negative beliefs. The Essences directly affect us at
the level where we make subconscious decisions about our emotions,
health, energy, life directions, abilities and relationships;
essentially how we are in the world. As a result, real physical
changes and emotional healing occurs.
Australian Bush Flower Essences are mixed with
pure alcohol to preserve and protect their distinctive qualities
and strength and are taken by placing several drops under the tongue
morning and night (as per the practitioner’s instruction).

Chinese Herbal Remedies
Chinese
Herbs are a truly holistic form of treatment, aiming at the whole
body rather than just the symptoms.
Chinese Herbal combinations are used to regulate
the internal organs and the immune system by providing minute nutritional
ingredients that are lacking from the average human diet. Each
of the herbs has its own property, nature and flavour. When combined
into a unique herbal remedy, the individual characteristics are
enhanced and the function of healing is improved.
If no other form of treatment is required from
the TCM practitioner, a 30-minute consultation will be required
to make a full diagnostic analysis before the herbs are dispensed.
The Chinese Herbal Remedies that are used by Nina Seto are either in pill form or they are of the powdered variety. These powdered varieties are easy to take, as they are mixed with a small amount of your favourite juice or warm water and swallowed. There is no cooking involved with taking Chinese Herbal Remedies from Yeronga Natural Therapies.
